A1.
It is usually too late to start thinking about cleaning if the carpet already looks soiled. Because the dirt, spot, or stains may already have caused a chemical reaction in the carpet thus complete removal may not be achieved.

A2.
The frequency of cleaning depends on where the carpet is located. As for residential carpets, in many cases, it's best to have a cleaning once every year. However if you have pets or small children, we recommend every six months.

A3.
Yes, you do. In Japan, it is usually the tenant's responsibility to restore the apartment (or house) to its original condition. In other words, you may have to pay for repairing or cleaning, which includes carpet (and it usually costs a lot!). So it is very important how you maintain the carpet of your apartment while you are still living in it. Don't put it off to the last minute when you move out!

A4.
When a carpet is cleaned by any moist system (either shampoo or steam cleaning) there is a normal amount of tightness while it is wet. If the carpet is firmly tacked down with tackless stripping and if the seams are firmly sewed together, no harm will result. The carpet will just become very tight until it dries and then it will relax back to its regular tautness.

A5.
Yes. Tests show that the major cause of carpets wearing out is abrasion of the fiber by sand and grit. Steam cleaning removes these elements, thereby removing the abrasion factor. In many cases this doubles the life of carpet.

A6.
No. Our method only penetrates around the carpet fibers and does not go through the back or the pad.

A7.
In most cases, yes. Most oily or greasy spots as well as the water-based ones are removed during the cleaning process. However, if the fiber is damaged by a permanent stain or loss of clolor, then no type of cleaning has any effect. Particularly large or offensive spots should be removed before the general cleaning.

A8.
Normally, where there is good ventilation or air conditioning, it takes about 3-4 hours. It means if we start cleaning in the morning, you can enjoy refreshed carpet, chairs, or sofas in the evening with complete dryness.
